Pucuk Manis (Sweet Leaf / Mani-Cai)

 

Description:

Pucuk Manis or Mani-Cai is a plant with fibrous leaves and it is recommend to be cook before consumption.

 

Planting and Care:

-Requires full sunlight

-Water moderately

-Well drained soil

 

Recommended Recipe:

Stir-Fry Mani-Cai with Eggs and Anchovies

Ingredients:

-200g Mani-Cai leaves (washed and shredded using hands)

-3 tablespoon oil

-3 tablespoon anchovies, fried until crispy

-3 cloves garlic, minced

-2 eggs

-1 teaspoon cornflour with 2 tablespoons water(optional)

-Salt to taste

 

Cooking:

-Lightly fry garlic in olive oil till flavour is released

-Add in the leaves and fry for about 5mins.

-Simmer in low heat for another 10mins

-Add in beaten eggs, cornflour to thicken if needed.

-When cooked, dish out and garnish with fried anchovies
